Boston University Scholarship Is Not Single By Definition
There are numerous meritorious students who find pursuing higher studies difficult due to financial stringencies. There is also the issue of recognition of talent, and the encouraging excellent performances by students. A scholarship serves both the purpose. The Boston University Scholarship has been introduced to help and encourage the needy and meritorious students.
Boston University Scholarship is not a single scholarship. It is a combination of multiple scholarships. Not only meritorious students, but also athletes, and students involved in extracurricular activities, are awarded Boston University Scholarship on the basis of their respective performances.
The scholarship for any of the above performances is ordinarily awarded on the basis of a set of well defined regulation. However, there are a good number of scholarships for which students are not required to apply. Such scholarships are awarded by the university management on the basis of their extra meritorious academic reports.
Among various scholarships offered, there are academic scholarships, engineering scholarships, merit scholarships, and a number of others. An academic scholarship can be renewed for three additional years of study, if the required eligibility measures are fulfilled. Recipients of merit scholarship will have to satisfactorily complete 12 credits in each semester, and should have the minimum qualifying grade point to be eligible. They should normally be US Citizens, permanent residents, or eligible non citizens of USA. However no such restriction has been recorded in respect of Trustee Scholars and University Scholars. There is one basic advantage of filling up an application for a Boston University Scholarship. If you have applied for a merit scholarship and has been granted one of the need based scholarships, your application to the university does not get rejected. If you are eligible, then you may be awarded the differential amount that exists between the two scholarships. As a precondition, the students, who have been awarded the full merit scholarship, must be a resident in a university owned housing. It has also been clarified from time to time that, awarding of scholarship is based on free and fair competition between candidates. Moreover the scholarship awardees, who defer their admission to Boston University on some ground or other, will have his scholarship award forfeited. Scholarships awarded on wrong information, or awarded to students having a criminal background, shall be comprehensively withdrawn, and such students will not be allowed in the campus. Now we can take a look at various scholarships offered by the University. They are: - 1. University scholarship and Merit scholarship. The Board of Admissions awards the University Scholarship basing on the report of the exceptional academic carrier of the student. 2. Engineering scholarship is awarded by Board of Admissions to students, who have applied to study further, on basis of their academic record. 3. 58 scholarships of four year duration are awarded annually to Boston residents who have graduated from Boston. 4. Cardinal Medeiros scholarship is a four year full tuition award to graduating seniors, based on their eligibility. 5. National Scholars award is a half-tuition scholarship, and is awarded to boys and girls identified by a good show at the National Merit or National Achievement Programs. 6. National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) is awarded to NHRP program finalists, with exceptionally strong academic record. 7. Deans' scholarship is a $10,000 renewable tuition scholarship, awarded to academically talented students, who have little or no calculated financial need 8. Founder's grant scholarship is awarded to students who are needy but not too needy. 9. Methodist Clergy scholarship is a half nutrition scholarship is awarded to children of active and Methodist ministers. 10. Theta Kappa scholarship is awarded by the university to in-coming students on transfer, who are outstanding leaders. These students must have a minimum of 60 transferable credits.
